Police in Pader District are actively searching for two suspects accused of murdering a 24-year-old man in Tenam Sub-County on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at around 7 PM. The deceased, identified as Okidi Lawrence from Atup Village, reportedly attempted to rob a businesswoman at Dubai Trading Center in Aringa Parish.

The suspects, Kinyera Patrick, 27, and Otoo Peter, 29, both from Omunylee Village, allegedly intervened and fatally assaulted Okidi using bricks. According to witnesses, the suspects, believed to be intoxicated after leaving a drinking joint, encountered Okidi trying to steal bread. It is alleged that Kinyera restrained Okidi while Otoo struck him in the chest with a brick, resulting in fatal injuries.

Jackson Bogere, the Pader District Police Commander, confirmed the incident. “The case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing. The suspects are at large,” he said. Belmos Kajura Omara, the LC3 Chairperson of Tenam Sub-County, condemned the incident and urged the community to respect the rule of law. He stated, “We must refrain from taking justice into our own hands.”

The deceased’s body is currently at Rackoko Hospital pending a postmortem examination. Police have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the suspects’ arrest-URN. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
