THE BITTER TRUTH: Here’s Why Mabikke & Mukaku Found It Easier to Work Under Mathias Mpuuga Than Col Kizza Besigye

By KT Reporter

KT news has confirmed the reasons why Lubega Mukaku, Mike Mabikke, Henry Lubowa and other veteran politicians from other parties like Jeema have found it easier working with Mathias Mpuuga than Col Kizza Besigye.

Immediately after 2021 elections, they teamed up with Besigye and formed a pressure group PFT which had its headquarters at Mengo Jeema offices. This was to organise for activism and at most meetings the discussion centered around what had gone wrong in the runner up to 2021.

The Mukakus and Mabikkes owned up and apologised having blindly embraced Kyagulanyi who ended up throwing them under the bus. But as they discussed, one thing discomforted Besigye and that was their hostility towards Bobi Wine who refused to give them NUP cards for 2021.

Besigye was clear and kept moderating and guiding them not to direct much anger at Kyagulanyi. His advice was that let’s focus on Museveni because he is the one with the ball.

The Mabikkes and Mukakus never felt comfortable with this and knowledgeable sources now say that each time they met, Besigye pleaded with them not to waste time bashing Bobi who, to him, isn’t the one with the ball.

Mabikke and Mukaku kept arguing that there was need to attack and tackle Kyagulanyi because he was an obstacle standing between them and Museveni who has the real ball. They kept saying that in order to directly tackle Museveni, the Kyagulanyi obstacle has to be removed first which didn’t make that much sense to Besigye.

He saw their obsession with Kyagulanyi to be frustrating and this made the two sides to become uncomfortable with each other. As they looked around for what to do next, Mathias Mpuuga quarreled with Kyagulanyi and seemed desperate for fighters to recruit in his camp to boost it. All they required was facilitation and they begin doing the job.

Unlike Besigye, Mpuuga had no problem with attacking Kyagulanyi directly because his foot soldiers have already been harassing him. That’s how the like-mindedness was built leading to common ground which has resulted into the formation of Democratic Alliance where Mpuuga is providing all the funding and has no problem making the fight with Bobi Wine a priority.

The Mukakus believe that continuing to work with Besigye is okay and a good thing but they aren’t comfortable being gagged not to attack Bobi Wine who the Retired Colonel thinks should he spared even when he isn’t infallible because he is an ally in the larger war against Museveni.
