A teacher at the Vocational Training Institute in Soroti has been found dead.

Moses Ejou, an instructor in the Department of Automotive Mechanics and a patron of the Scouts Club, was found dead on Tuesday. His body had deep cuts on the head and body.

According to Rev. Julius Apedu, the Principal of VTI-Soroti, Ejou was discovered in a corridor near his residence in Nakatunya ward, Soroti City. “We were informed in the morning that one of our teachers was found lying in the corridor, lifeless. When we arrived, we managed to take him to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, but unfortunately, he was already dead due to his injuries,” Rev. Apedu stated.

According to Rev. Apedu, a friend of Ejou, whose name is being withheld, said that they had gone to a local pub called Pamba to eat pork on Monday evening.

They returned safely, and Ejou went to his home, but the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

In the hospital, doctors conducted a scan that revealed multiple internal brain injuries, which led to internal bleeding and ultimately caused Ejou’s death. “The man we have lost was a jolly person; he led the school’s Patriotism team to Kenya last year and brought home trophies. He has graduated many students from this school, and we have greatly lost a pillar. We pray that the police conduct thorough investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Rev. Apedu added.
