Alice Kaboyo, a close relative who served as a babysitter and maid for Janet Museven for all the years Uganda’s future 1st family lived in exile as refugees, has declared she wants to join parliament in 2026 and serve her country more directly.

She is praised and respected by all Museven’s children for the role she played being there and supporting the younger Janet Kataha for all the years she was raising them as a single mother in absence of her husband Museven. He would be away fighting wars in the bush.

Kaboyo would take the children to school, cook for them and bathe them. Its the reason they all love and respect her very much. She is also a relative of Janet.

Currently serving as the state minister for the rehabilitation of Luwero triangle where her in-law Museven fought from, Kaboyo wants to become the older persons MP for central region.

She has to first destroy Peninah Busingye Kabingani aka Mama Kisanja who is holding the seat now.

It’s a seat Kaboyo could win very easily because its through the electoral college of older persons aged 60 years and more and Museveni and NRM remain very popular among that age group.

In 2021 when the position had just been introduced, Busingye won with less than 200 votes because its a college of a few people who moneybags Alice Kaboyo can manipulate very easily and get the job for herself.

The delegates come from the 27 districts of Buganda and Busingye defeated veteran singer Halima Namakula to become the MP who has never said a word in parliament up to this day. She only opened her mouth when taking oath and the next is only when its meals time.

She doesn’t have to talk much because Museven only needs such representatives for votes to shield himself against opposition interests.

Kaboyo will be a good Museven listening post also because she has to demonstrate high levels of loyality. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
