A group of NRM cadres from Lira city stormed the ruling party secretariat offices and had audience with the ruling party’s EC member Zaitun Driwaru and Lango area administrative assistant Joshua Akejo, to whom they handed a petition.
In their petition, the ruling party cadres listed NRM officials in especially Lira area who are yellow on the outside but very red inside.
The petitioners say that such men and women call themselves NRM yet in practice they are working with NUP and UPCs to undermine the electoral victory chances for NRM cadres in national elections.
The petition, which was also copied and dispatched to the president and secretary general Richard Todwong, shows that these officials openly support and cooperate with UPCs and NUP guys while at the same time saying negative things about NRM.
The petitioners gave the example of Lira city woman MP Ruth Aceng saying she has been fought by these lukewarm party officials openly as they campaign for Betty Amongi of UPC.
They demanded for the expulsion of the officials and for their exclusion from NRM structures.
Its alleged in the petition that these officials even worked hard and recruited many Nupians and UPCs in the NRM register in order to sabotage and vote against Museven’s loyal cadres in favor of dilute ones who will get the flag but hand the victory to UPC candidates.
The petitioners say they are ready to travel to state house Entebbe or Nakasero to pin these double dealing officials infront of the president. They have also embarked on decampaigning them openly so that the genuine NRM members can avoid them and their allies in the ongoing grass root structures elections.
Those who Museven must reprimand as listed in the petition include the embattled construction tycoon Geoffrey Etwop who is also the outgoing party treasurer for Lira city, the little presidential advisor Francis Okello Opio Danomabor, female councilor Sarah Awor Angweri, Sam Odongo of Adekokwok sub county, Joel Juke, Lira city division speaker Daniel Okello and his special friend councilor Lydia Akello etc.
Sarah Angweri is accused of talking things which reduce the support of NRM in Lira while promoting UPC and some of the rest for participating in issuance of fake NRM party cards to enable Nupians and UPCs to become fake NRM members and participate in voting of their own opposition colleagues into NRM structures.
The petitioners also want the following reprimanded-Yaya Salim, Moses Olyet and Stephen Alol. The petitioners say that its very important for NRM to get rid of sabotuers because it needs to know its real strenght on good time and who is genuinely with Museven or not. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
