This partially delayed the electoral process for about two hours, however, the polling officials started the voting exercise, without further interruptions.
Meanwhile, Mulondo, who has served as a councilor for the past 20 years noted that, the process was free and fair, which enabled the best candidate to win. “I I am convinced that, the best candidate in this race has won,” he said.
Mulondo urged his successor to prioritize avenues of lobbying for safe spaces for PWDs to freely participate in income generating activities, which will enable them to profit from the money economy.
Meanwhile, Margret Kayaga who contested as an independent candidate defeated NRM’s Harriet Kauma to win the seat of female Southern division councilor for PWDs.
This race attracted two candidates, where Kayaga won with 31 votes, whereas, Kauma came in second with 24 votes.
