Uthman Mubarak Mugisa has been sworn in as the Hoima LCV Chairperson. Mugisa took the oath of office at exactly 12:05 p.m. at Hoima Resort Hotel. The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by George Kunihira, the Hoima Chief Magistrate.

Mugisa, the incumbent LCV Chairperson who contested as an independent candidate, retained his seat. He defeated Vincent Savana Muhumuza, the NRM candidate and district party chairperson.

Speaking shortly after taking the oath, Mugisa applauded the people of Hoima for entrusting him with the office. Mugisa promised to fight land grabbing and evictions in the district, which have been rampant.

He says other priority areas will be improvements in the road network, health, education, water coverage, and the transformation of Agriculture.

He called for collaborative efforts between the technical and political wings to ensure effective service delivery to the people of Hoima.

Mugisa also urged political leaders in the district to set aside political differences and join forces to develop Hoima. He said that division could hinder service delivery.

He further pledged to usher in peace and unity by uniting all the tribes and people in the district.
