On Monday, DF boss Mathias Mpuuga met and addressed DF MP candidates at his headquarters in Namirembe. He told them that in total, DF fielded 88 MP candidates and many of them have to win.
He said many more expressed interest but they chose only those with integrity and capacity to be good candidates.
Mpuuga told them not to fear opponents from NUP who go abusing them because the Kavule party has enough problems to deal with.
He gave the example of the flooding problem in Kampala, which he said must become a campaign issue and be squarely blamed on NUP president Kyagulanyi and secretary general Rubongoya.
The DF leadership is wondering why Rubongoya should go to the traders who lost merchandize and pretend to shed crocodile tears yet himself and Kyagulanyi defended KCCA speaker Zahara Luyirika and the more than 40 NUP lord councilors who passed a resolution giving Ham Kigundu cover to put up shops on top of Nakivubo channel.
Rubongoya and Kyagulanyi are accused of refusing to investigate Luyirika and the more than 40 NUP councilors who traders were complaining about for their silence as the private developer was given Nakivubo channel.
Mpuuga now wants Kampala voters to punish Zahara Luyirika and other NUP lord councilors for fighting Erias Lukwago after he opposed the giving of Nakivubo to one person Ham Kiggundu yet this is public property.
Erias Lukwago wrote to Rubongoya asking him to call his party councilors to order regarding their resolution giving Ham cover to take over Nakivubo but the NUP secretary general simply ignored the letter and became vague.
The top leadership of DF has dared Zahara Luyirika and other NUP lord councilors plus Rubongoya to call a press conference and clearly condemn Ham to prove they are not complicit, instead of hiding behind tik tokers and YouTubers to speak for them.
MINSA KABANDA PINS NUP TOO:
Meanwhile Kampala minister Minsa Kabanda as per the story in Ono Bwino online news, says that NUP councilors are to blame for the flooding problem in Kampala and not the president.
Minsa Kabanda says that the people of Kampala should punish Zahara Luyirika and Moses Katabu who is standing for Kampala central mayoral seat.
She says Luyirika and Katabu ensured that all NUP councilors who are the majority (41 out of 44) voted for the resolution allowing Ham Kiggundu to be given Nakivubo and it was only Lukwago who opposed it.
Minsa Kabanda says that she was told by the president to ensure that before he directs prime minister Nabbanja to give away the drainage channel all elected leaders at city hall where in support.
Minsa Kabanda, an old woman who can’t tell lies, says that all of them supported the deal except Lukwago who suffered a lot of abuses from Katabu and Luyirika who all of a sudden became diehard supporters of the channel’s re-development.
She wants them to now come out openly and defend their position instead of targeting Erias Lukwago who was very clear from the beginning. In the Bwino story, Kabanda is quoted to have seen Katabu standing with the developer with her two naked eyes.
She wants NUP councilors to carry their cross and explain to the people instead of scape goating the president.
Minsa Kabanda is standing against Katabu and Zahara’s boss Rubongoya for the position of Kampala central MP.
She realizes that Rubongoya will politically be in big problems the moment his enablers Katabu and Luyirika are destroyed under the Nakivubo channel saga.
Already Luyirika is facing big problems in Makindye west where her rivals are already making the Nakivubo saga a big campaign issue. Mpuuga, who is fronting David Musiri, wants that to be happening more so that Luyirika is properly destroyed. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com.
