In 2021, Facco man Aloysius Mukasa easily won to become the Rubaga south MP in Kampala on the NUP ticket.
He defeated more serious candidates like the beautiful Euginia Nassolo, Kato Lubwama, Ken Lukyamuzi, Rubongoya’s PA Habib Buwembo, Lubega Mukaku, NRM’s Jamil Mpiima and others. There was also lawyer Derrick Lufunya who is of NRM. Mukasa beat all of them even when he didn’t have any political history.
But today, four years later Mukasa who poured in money like a Nigerian Oga, would struggle to show what he has done to make the NUP party great. He doesn’t speak in parliament and even in the constituency voters are disatisfied and they rarely see him. Many voters don’t even know where he stays. Neither do they know his office.
His only strategy to galvanize himself before the Ssentamus was by attempting to sleep with their sister Catherine Namuleme but that also didn’t take him far. The anticipated strong bond to the Ssentamu family never resulted from those bonking sessions.
This has left Mukasa in the skies and the political house he had built on sand is rapidly collapsing right there in his face. With his godfather Fred Nyanzi, also recipient of his cash donations, having his influence at Kavule dwindling, Aloysius Mukasa now faces a politically very uncertain future.
And a decision has already been taken not to give him the Rubaga south flag again. Options like Euginia Nassolo and comedian Reign Obed Lubega are being considered while relegating him to the past tense of history. Decision makers inside NUP are convinced that he can’t win reelection in Rubaga south even if the NUP flag is given back to him.
There is also Julius Katongole Mumiransanafu, a semi-illiterate, who operates like Mohammed Ssegirinya.
He wants the Rubaga south MP seat too but sources say Kavule might end up making him the KCCA lord councilor for Najjanankumbi area to replace deputy KCCA speaker Nasur Masaba. Katongole hates Mukasa, his former boss, with a passion yet they started together. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
