Three people have died and 10 others injured in a road crash involving a Toyota Hiace Drone, registration number UA 836AM, along the Ishaka–Kagamba Road in Bushenyi District. Michael Kananura, the Traffic Police spokesperson, said the crash occurred at about 4:40 pm on September 7, 2026, at Omukatagu along the Ishaka–Kagamba Road.

Kananura said preliminary investigations indicate that the driver failed to negotiate a corner due to excessive speed. The vehicle was transporting mourners from Kashaka in Mbarara to Rwererere in Rukungiri via the Ishaka–Kagamba Road when the crash occurred.

The injured victims were rushed to KIU Teaching Hospital and Kitagata Hospital for medical attention. Kananura urged motorists to observe speed limits, particularly when approaching corners and other high-risk sections of the road, warning that excessive speed reduces a driver’s ability to react and safely negotiate bends-URN.
