The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has won all six parliamentary seats in Kasese District in the recent elections.
In Kasese Municipality, Kambale Ferigo secured the seat with 11,899 votes, defeating his closest rival Kithula Francis, who garnered 9,787 votes. Centenary Robert came third with 5,141 votes in a contest featuring six candidates.
Busongora North was retained by incumbent Sowedi Kitanywa, who polled 21,064 votes, defeating William Nzoghu, who received 13,817 votes.
In Bukonzo East, Monday Julius Rude emerged victorious with 28,195 votes, beating FDC’s Masereka Sylvester, who garnered 9,032 votes. Incumbent Herold Muhindo of pFF came third with 5,482 votes. Six candidates contested the seat.
Bukonzo West saw Muk Chancellor Chrispus Kiyonga return to Parliament after polling 35,899 votes, defeating Katusabe Godfrey Atkins with 26,399 votes. Shahidu Muhindo came third with 1,932 votes.
