At the beginning of this week, NRM CEC boss for Buganda Godfrey Kiwanda campaigned in the five divisions of Kampala. He moved with Lydia Wanyoto who wants to be voted the chairperson women league of NRM and Chris Baryomunsi who is campaigning to remain the party chairman for western region.

The three CEC incumbent candidates contributed money and gave Ugx100k to be shared by every three delegates, which they said was their joint contribution as transport refund. This annoyed delegates who turned against Kiwanda and accused him of being mean, besides moving with very unpopular candidates.

Some angry delegates humiliated Kiwanda infront of Wanyoto and Baryomunsi by reminding him about how he used them in his 2021 campaigns for the CEC job and he has never paid their allowances. The men and women who served as his agents told the meeting the man was a user adding that he has never paid them for the work they did for him in 2021.

Many demanded to know where Kiwanda has been all this time and also challenged him to explain why he doesn’t take phone calls anymore. They called him a user who thinks everybody is calling to beg him for money which is why he stops taking supporters’ phone calls the moment he wins his CEC race.
