President Museveni is counting on his blue-eyed girl Col Edith Nakalema to help protect, shield, guide and embolden the new KCCA Executive Director and her Deputy Benon Kigenyi.
Sources say that many groups lobbied for the different applicants for the ED job and that Nakalema is the biggest winner because she was part of the Museveni Palace influencers who secured the decision to overlook all the other applicants in favor of the final two winners-the vastly experienced Benon Kigenyi and the Hajat.
Nakalema is a good ally to have because she is reliable and has the eye of both the President and Mama Janet Kataha bssides being capable of influencing NBS owner Kin Karisa and other media executives in Kampala. She also has good rapport with CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and the President’s daughters. She also plays good ball with Gen Salim Saleh.
There is certainty among key movers inside the Museveni state house that with the Nakalema patronage, the new ED and her Deputy will surely be able to obtain all the support required to excel in their new roles while making progress towards making Kampala a better and more livable City. Let’s watch the space as we allow time to play its part on how it all goes. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
