Ninsiima a former journalist is the Gombolola Internal Security Officer-GISO for the Central division Kasese Municipality.
In a letter dated 28th November 2024, the FDC party District Chairperson Ronald Kabuku argues that their concerns arise from the fact that the shortlisted candidate during the mass NIRA registration for National Identity cards allegedly frustrated most of the youth from the opposition stronghold areas by refusing to sign on their documents to enable them to acquire Identity cards.
“This behaviour raises serious doubts about her impartiality and ability to aid free and fair elections,” read part of the letter.
In the letter, Kabuku also contends that the selection of Ninsiima may be influenced by her perceived alliance with the NRM party which could compromise the integrity of the electoral process.
“We respectively request that you reconsider Ninsiima Enid’s shortlisting and ensure that the selection process is transparent, fair and based on merit.” The letter read.
Officials at the district electoral office have preferred not to comment referring the media to the regional office in Fort Portal.
Ninsiima however says her being shortlisted is not against the electoral laws asking those complaining to interest themselves with the law.
