Just asking: For How Long Can Nandala Mafabi Tolerate Yusuf Nsibambi’s Negativity?

The Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi has been grumbling and making it clear he isn’t one of the powerful decision makers in FDC Najjanankumbi even when he is their deputy president for Buganda. He keeps appearing on media of CBS and NBS to say negative things about his bosses Nandala Mafabi and Amuriat POA.

A few weeks ago he appeared on CBS and said why FDC was totally absent at NUP offices when they prayed for Besigye and other political prisoners is because he was assigned by LoP Joel Senyonyi to coordinate the Najjanankumbi delegation to Kavule but he was frustrated from doing this coordination because POA and Nandala refused to take his repeated phone calls and they never called back.

The fact that a whole party vice president could for days fail to get his boss the party president via phone call, portrayed POA and Nandala Mafabi in bad light. Nsibambi told CBS listeners the blame for FDC absence at Besigye’s prayers should go to POA and Nandala because its them who refused to pick the LoP’s phone calls and those made by him.

Job-seeking POA explained away his absence from the Besigye prayers by saying that being a very busy man, he had better things to do on that day including meeting his campaign agents in Kumi where he wants to get the job of MP come 2026. Nandala remained quiet and has never explained himself up to this day.

On another occasion, Nsibambi, who sources say wants to appease NUP in order to land the Kyagulanyi meal card endorsement as he seeks reelection in Mawokota, appeared on NBS and said he didn’t appear anywhere to campaign for Khalifah Aganaga in Kawempe because he was protesting lack of democracy at Najjanankumbi.

He said he was disappointed that Khalifah was declared the FDC flag bearer without following any democratic process internally inside FDC. Nsibambi stayed away even when his boss and mentor Nandala Mafabi appeared in Kawempe to market Khalifah who ended up getting less than 400 votes.

But the bitter truth is that Nsibambi stayed away from Kawempe because he is a coward who feared coming face to face with NUP militants in the Kawempe trenches. This was very treacherous of him being the deputy president for Buganda in whose region the Kawempe by-election was being held. And his decision to shun the candidate in Kawempe angered POA and Nandala, the two bosses who are now ready to make the frail old man Nsibambi regret his indiscipline.

The other question everyone is asking is whether the Nandala-POA duo, renowned for not tolerating dissent and Luke warmness within their ranks, will tolerate Yusuf Nsibambi-and for how long. The Mawokota South MP badly wants to be reelected to keep his job for another five years-and he will have to engage in some opportunism and fortune-seeking in order to avoid open war and head-on collision with the Kyagulanyi crowd which he will end up embracing claiming it’s all about People Power. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
