Earlier this week Kyagulanyi called NUP leaders from Nansana to a meeting at his Kavule offices. The meeting happened after the press conference. Some of the leaders present included Nasif Najja, the Wakiso district speaker who is campaigning to become LC5 Chairman.
Regina Nakazzi Bakitte the incumbent Nansana mayor, who is planning to join Mpuuga’s democratic front, boycotted and didn’t attend because she has realized that Kavule doesn’t like her anymore. She thinks they just want to embarrass her in the flag bearer race.
Instead, she is organizing her function to launch her re-election bid independent of NUP over the weekend. She is launching at her stronghold of Jinja Karoli.
Nansana speaker Hamza Kasozi who wants to become area mayor was in the meeting, JB Serunkuma alias Kanna ka mbata was also there. These two have been fighting with Bakitte for the post of Nansana municipality mayor. Ka mbata is a foot soldier and councilor too.
Kyagulanyi told them he wanted to meet them to harmonize on their mayor race to avoid conflicts because the giving of the party flag had turned out to be a big headache for the party.
He proposed that Ka mbata takes the ticket for Nansana mayor and Hamza Kasozi goes for the position of district councilor on Wakiso district local council. He assured Kasozi of the position of district speaker to replace Nasif Najja who is going for LC5 seat.
Hamza Kasozi, who has put a lot of money in the party and in the municipality preparing to become the next mayor, was so angry and tried to beat up Kyagulanyi. He was restrained and then furiously stormed out of the meeting, leaving Kyagulanyi with a swollen face.
Kasozi made it clear he is going to cause trouble for NUP in Nansana municipality, if Kavule doesn’t handle him with care.
He went back to Nansana and intensified his campaigns and has made it clear he is not going to pull out of the mayoral race for which he has been campaigning for years.
He is a rich man funded by a MUSLIM charity NGO from Turkey which gives him money to pay school fees for poor children and to also slaughter cows for the entire municipality whenever it’s Idi day.
Besides funding teams of foot soldiers and top officials who travel with Kyagulanyi on mobilization tours, Hamza Kasozi has also been very generous when it comes to taking goats, matooke and other goodies to Kyagulanyi’s home in Magere.
Barbie even allowed him to take one of her cousins to become his wife, which showed how connected he is to the Kyagulanyi family but he is now angry, feeling betrayed and might end up punching Kyagulanyi because of too much anger and betrayal about the Nansana mayor ticket.
