The Hoima district local government has launched the disbursement of Shillings 2.75 billion under the Parish Development model (PDM). The initiative will benefit all 55 parishes in the district. Information obtained from the district production department indicates that currently, Shillings 500 million have been disbursed to 10 parishes.

Dr. Charles Kajura, the Hoima District Production Officer-DPO, who is also the PDM focal person, told Uganda Radio Network (URN) in an interview that under the initiative, each parish is entitled to get 50 million Shillings. Kajura notes that they have established and commissioned practical training centers (PTC) in each parish to train and equip PDM beneficiaries with practical and hands-on skills in their areas of enterprise.

According to Dr. Kajura, the disbursement exercise will continue until mid-August 2025, when all 55 parishes will have been covered. Michael Kyakashari, the Hoima Deputy Resident District Commissioner(RDC), warned the program beneficiaries to desist from putting the money in nonproductive ventures.

He has further warned the beneficiaries against misappropriation of the PDM money. Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri has urged the beneficiaries to invest in enterprises with quick and high returns, like animal rearing. He has also cautioned against acts of extortion by some unscrupulous actors who are tainting the image of the government.

Robert Makuru, a beneficiary from Buhirigi village in Bombo sub-county, has tasked the district officials to take stern action against some of the implementers of the program who are found of extorting money from people intending to benefit from the program-URN.
