One Person has been confirmed dead while 14 others are under close monitoring following an outbreak of Cholera in Koboko district.
The patient died in Koboko General Hospital four days ago after he was admitted with severe diarrhoea and vomiting. According to officials from Koboko district, the deceased together with two others are all residents of Mundukudu village Apaa Ward Koboko North Division Koboko Municipality.
A report from the Ministry of Health, a copy of which was seen by URN indicates that a Village Health Team reported 14 community members from Mundukudu village had a strange disease. The report further indicated that eleven out of the 14 members with the same signs were referred to the health facility in Koboko and immediately isolated.
Dr. Dennis Oloya, the District Health Officer Koboko confirmed the incident but said there is no cause for alarm as the situation has been managed According to Dr. Oloya, the district emergency health team is currently in Mundukudu village to sensitize and create more awareness on sanitation and hygiene.
