National Unity Platform presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has criticized the government for failing to resettle people displaced by landslides in the Bugisu region since December 2024.

Speaking at two campaigns rallies in Mbale City this Friday, one at Malare play ground in Industrial city division, and another at Nakaloke Play ground located at Northern city division Kyagulanyi said the government forcibly removed people from disaster-risk areas in Bududa, Mbale, Bulambuli, and Namisindwa to internally displaced persons (IDP) camps at Bunambutye, but has failed to resettle them two years now.

He says those people are very frustrated and most have decided to go back to their original disaster risk home.

He urged people not to be intimidated by President Museveni and his officials, who have threatened to arrest those found with the national flag, saying displaying the flag shows patriotism but not committing any crime.

Mansa Musa, NUP mayoral aspirant for Mbale City, urged citizens to vote out the ruling NRM from LC1 to the presidential level to reclaim their city and country.

He warned electoral officials, police, and government agents against threatening voters by restricting them to not protect their votes after voting yet they have no law they will break if they vote and sit there.
