Led by Kamagu aka Richard Kasule, a very popular radio morning show presenter in Kampala, the Top Radio morning crew members have endorsed the President’s determination to have the Kampala city square redeveloped.
During their Tuesday morning show, the very influential Top radio crew members called upon ordinary Kampalans to embrace the proposed redevelopment of the monumental city square.
They explained the contents of the young billionaire’s artistic impression detailing how the Bulwadda City Square Complex is going to look like and what it will be comprised of.
For more than 10 minutes, the panel members explained as follows: the gigantic two-in-one shopping mall will be solar-powdered, which is good for the environment. It will stand on the 2 acre piece of land lying between Kampala CPS, Judiciary headquarters, Bank of Uganda headquarters and Mapeera House housing the headquarters of Centenary Bank. Sheraton hotel, Grand Imperial hotel, Church House etc are some of the neighboring establishments.
The two-in-one complex will have two malls: one on the upper plot closest to the High Court and another on the lower part touching on Kampala road. The upper part will have a 250 rooms hotel facility and also a wing comprising of 3500 shop spaces. The other complex will comprise of 2500 shops.
The redeveloped infrastructure will 100% be solar-powered, besides preserving the city square’s greenery. The carefully landscapped green areas will be preserved as opposed to being lost. This arrays fears many people had expressed to justify their opposition to the proposed redevelopment. The legendary city square monument is also going to be beautified and retained.
Claiming this could be the biggest of its kind in East & Central Africa, the Top radio panel members also highlighted the fact that the redeveloped city square will have lounging spaces where ordinary Kampalans can meet and have discussions from, water fountains, free public toilet services and free wifi.
They also celebrated the fact that young billionaire Bulwadda’s $125m or Shs502bn is ready: to facilitate the commencement of the project as soon as the necessary government approvals are obtained. They also spoke about the mini-zoo which they said will be part of the redeveloped city square to cater for tourism needs and serve recreational needs of fun-loving Kampalans.
“This is going to look like London or Dubai,” excitedly declared Kamagu who went on to christen Bulwadda “Kampala’s new Development Champion.” He said Ugandans should be proud of having such a young billionaire who is their fellow native Ugandan, and not a foreigner.
The panel members also thanked the President and Minister Minsa Kabanda for being very supportive of such a transformative project which they asserted will forever change Kampala’s skyline, beauty and physical scenery while creating hundreds of jobs for young Ugandans.
