Thugs Steal Gun from Security Guard in Hoima City

Unknown thugs have raided Nile Agro Depot situated in Kiryatete, Hoima City stealing a gun from a private security guard.

The thugs attacked the depot at around 2:30 a.m. and made off with a gun model 303 from Phelix Ebong, a security guard attached to Express Security Company Limited.

The thugs wearing face masks reportedly approached the security guard and grabbed the gun from him and immediately fled with it to an unknown destination.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, currently they have initiated investigations into the matter adding that they are reviewing the  Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) security cameras installed in the place.

He says the security guard together with his supervisor have been detained at the Hoima city central police station to help the police with investigations.

The incident comes just a day after two security guards were killed in an attack by unknown assailants at Shine Energy petrol station in Kiryandongo Town Council, Kiryandongo District.

The deceased, Alex Omirambe (28), and another identified only as James (28), were employees of Sovereign Security Company Limited.

The assailants attacked and hacked the guards with machetes severally before dumping their bodies a short distance from the petrol station.

The attackers also stole a gun, registration number UGPSO56S400146711691, which was later recovered near the crime scene.
