The National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearers in Sironko district have submitted a memorandum to President Yoweri Museveni, requesting the creation of a new district, Budadiri, and the upgrade of Bududari Health Center IV to a district hospital.

The memorandum was read by Asha Nabulo Mafabi Lumolo, the Sironko district woman Member of Parliament aspirant and NRM flag bearer, during a rally at Sironko Township Primary School playground.

Lumolo emphasized the need for a hospital in the district, citing the long distance residents have to travel to access medical care at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital.

She also highlighted the challenges faced by residents of Bududari East constituency in accessing services at the district headquarters in Sironko Town Council, which is part of Budadiri West. Lumolo suggested that creating a new district would improve service delivery.

In response, President Museveni stated that the government plans to upgrade Health Center IIs to IIIs before considering further upgrades. He emphasized the importance of improving healthcare services at lower levels.

During the rally, President Museveni also cautioned leaders of government-aided schools against sending children home for non-payment of fees, emphasizing that education is free.

He warned that such actions would not be tolerated by the NRM government, as they hinder the education of disadvantaged children.
