Robert Kyagulanyi’s blue-eyed boy Blasio Zambali Mukasa risks being disrupted after two of his opponents, including supporters of NRM’s Idi Matovu, decided to write to the EC seeking disclosure of the academic documents he used and submitted to facilitate his nomination.
He is standing for the position of MP Nansana municipality but some of his opponents claim that he is not adequately educated so as to possess the minimum requirement of S6 certificate or its requirement.
They have petitioned the EC and have lined up a team of lawyers to challenge Zambali’s qualifications with their overall target being getting him denominated so that the Kavule-based party ends up with no official flag-carrying candidate in the race.
Zambali says that he isn’t worried and has made it clear in a phone interview that he is waiting to see his opponents die in their move because he is sure they won’t find any fraud in his academic qualifications.
“They have all realized that I’m the strongest and the only way they think they can antagonize me is by coming up with fake stories trying to discredit my qualifications.”
Some candidates like DF’s Henry Lubowa have gone as far as claiming that Zambali isn’t fluent in the Queen’s language yet it is the only official way to communicate in parliament.
