Special greetings to you Your Excellency. I am writing to you as your Muzzukulu expressing my frustrations which have been killing me slowly both socially, politically and financially until today Sunday.
Mzee, you may not be aware of my political journey with the NRM bus. Let me share briefly about my political life. As you read this, I will be making 35years in September, so you need to bear this in mind Mzee.
In 2006, when I was 15 years old, I was actively involved in distribution of your posters which had a very nice theme of PEACE, UNITY AND TRANSFORMATION FOR PROSPERITY. I did that voluntarily because my grandparents had already taught me about the bad days of the past regimes.
I went ahead to preach a gospel about you Mr. president during my Senior Six. My preaching summarized NRM achievements in Uganda and in general under your leadership.
In 2020, I offered to contest as MP but I never held a flag due to financial factors. Due to my special loyalty to the you and NRM, I campaigned for you until you gained your landslide victory over agents of imperialists but since then I have been forgotten. Last campaigns, I was actively involved in mobilization under the watch of the party secretary General. I have been doing what in political science is called POLITICAL INTELLIGENCE for NRM until recently (missing any deployment at parliament or OWC even failing to meet my rent arrears) when I realized that the party I have served so diligently is slowly but surely getting tired of me and here are my Six reasons for quitting!
- Lack of appreciation: NRM is the party that loves enemies more than allies / friends! Those who oppose, abuse and insult the president and NRM are given special care and treatment and they get jobs in a blink of an eye while the committed cadres of NRM like me continue rotting in poverty even when they have better qualifications and constructive/ enterprising ideas! No young man of a sober and sound mind like me can continue supporting such a system Your Excellency!!!
- Corruption, Greed, Malice, Arrogance and Mafiasm: Apart from a few top managers of NRM, all the rest are tainted with the above negative vices. NRM has proved to be more of liability instead of an asset to its members and Uganda in general. The situation worsens during party primaries and general elections.
- Failure to facilitate Cadre Identification, Mentorship and Placement Process: Any serious political party must have a clear agenda for its upcoming cadres but for NRM, it is like a Jungle where the law of SURVIVAL FOR THE FITTEST applies..
- Air or unfulfilled promises to the nation: Whenever the country goes to elections, you promise to do various activities and projects for the people but after elections, little or nothing is accounted for. This gives us, mobilizers hard time to convince electorates to vote NRM again, And in the process, we appear to be liars and idiots before innocent voters.
- Inaccessibility to you, Gen Saleh and other NRM big men and women: It is becoming too hard for us to meet you and other big men and women in NRM government not that you are too busy but because of the statehouse and other Government Handlers’ attitude towards we from poor backgrounds!
- Brutality and lawlessness by some security Personnel: The behavior of some security officers gives NRM system a very bad image to the extent that people have now started comparing the NRM government to that of Idi Amin Dada.
In conclusion therefore, I don’t regret having volunteered all this time to defend your name Mr. President and entire NRM. I have been doing this myself – Conviction, political passion and love for your personality which has shaped my personal political outlook. However, as the Bible says (Ecclesiastes 3:1), There is time for everything! My time to volunteer and support NRM is over and it is now time to do other things. I felt like as a good Christian, Patriot and Pan Africanist, I let my country men and women know my decision and current position. I had expected to appear on RDC list but to my astonishment I heard no reshuffle this time! (Omwavu wa kufa), the poor will die.
Mzee, Surviving in Kampala from year to year without a job and when you are seen as a great Cadre of the ruling party with qualifications is like dreaming when you are in heaven yet in actual sense , you are on the bed snoring. .
Mzee, I can’t abuse or insult the person of the president or the party so as to get what I want. I rather quit like the way I have decided and do other things. However, my problem is not money but a JOB to work and get money
For God and my country Yours Affectionately.
