Even when it’s clearly predictable that he will end up like Kazibwe Bashir or even worse, Bobi Wine is super excited about fronting NBS news anchor and barometer host Mukasa Zambali to remove tested Nsereko Wakayinlma Musoke who has been an elected leader in Nansana for more than 15 years.
Because they know better than expecting much from a political novice like Zambali, strategists in Mpuuga’s DA have opted not to waste much time counting on Bobi Wine’s man. They know that Bobi is always excited about media personalities because he believes in celebrity vibe which is how he ended up fronting many MPs who were not even suitable to be sub county councillors.
And as an act of protest, Mpuuga’s DA group is fronting Henry Lubowa a former students leader at Makerere where he mentored the likes of Fred Mukasa Mbidde to become guild president of the Ivory Tower. Lubowa will be competing on the DA ticket for the Nansana Municipality MP seat against Wakayima (Frank Gashumba’s young brother) and Zambali among others.
Lubowa has his home in nearby Namungoona which he acquired in those years when he was the youth councillor representing all Kampala’s youths at KCC under Mayor Sebaana Kizito.
One reason why Wakayima is being punished by NUP bosses is to avenge his being a biological brother to Frank Gashumba who is always on Balaam’s radio and Ssanyuka TV bashing Bobi Wine who he calls Mr. Ssabawanyi which means the fake master.
The opposition quarrels for the Nansana MP Seat will pave way for NRM’s Kasule Sebunya to bounce back come 2026. Otherwise Wakayima is a well mentored leader who started out as Nansana municipality mayor up to 2016 when he left it for old woman Regina Bakitte who came from DP to join NUP.
Wakayima had started out as Wakiso district councillor representing the youths of Nansana Town Council. He is an investor with one of the best schools (Little Diamonds) in Nansana Town. This sharply contrasts with Zambali who lives in a one roomed muzigo which he rented just to qualify to stand for MP job.
He wanted Nakaseke at first but he feared Lutamaguzi Semakula and changed to Nansana whose voters he thinks are fools prepared to vote for anything Bobi Wine puts before them. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
