As Easter celebrations commence, the Bishop of Madi West Nile Diocese, Rt. Rev. Charles Collins Andaku, has cautioned Christians against indulging in witchcraft, adoring demi-gods, and engaging in secular practices that contradict Christian values.

Delivering his Easter message on Thursday evening from the Diocesan Headquarters in Mvara, Bishop Andaku expressed concern over Christians who behave like atheists or become deserters of Jesus Christ by following false prophets and treating Easter merely as a weekend for fun and rest.

Bishop Andaku condemned acts such as theft, murder, corruption, sexual immorality, reckless alcohol consumption, and participation in trans-night discos, urging the faithful to use this holy season for renewal, peace, love, and forgiveness. He also called for an end to gender-based violence, defilement, teenage pregnancy, and what he termed “religious prostitution”—where individuals drift from their original churches to unorthodox movements.

Meanwhile, West Nile Police Spokesperson, Collins Asea, appealed to the public to maintain high levels of vigilance and cooperate with security agencies to ensure peaceful and incident-free Easter celebrations.

Easter holidays officially begin on Good Friday, running through Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, and concluding on Easter Monday, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ—a central pillar of the Christian faith-URN. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
