Kapelebyong District has broken its silence to celebrate improved performance in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations.
The district had 28 candidates in division one, 818 in division two, 491 in division three, 158 in division four, and 105 failed. In the previous year 2024, Kapelebyong district got 22 Division I, 692 Division II, 573 Division III, 200 Division IV, 150 failed, and 10 Division X.
Speaking in interview at his office on 6th February 2026, Emmanuel Opio, Kapelebyong District Communications Officer, stated that the district has made significant progress in PLE, with 23 learners failed compared to the district’s previous PLE results in 2024, when the district had a higher rate of 152 failures.
According to the pass rate trend by percentage, the Kapelebyong district improved, with 84.6 percent passing in 2022, 87.8 percent in 2023, 91 percent passing in 2024, and 92 percent in 2025.
According to Opio, the district has made significant progress, noting that the trend has demonstrated commitment by teachers, students, parents, and stakeholders, indicating that the district intends to eradicate failures in the upcoming PLE results.
He also praised the thorough inspection with both the technical team and stakeholders, as well as the positive attitude of parents in contributing to the district’s educational growth.
Opio commended all the stakeholders for the improved education landscape in Kapelebyong, and he stated that a clear vision for Kapelebyong, saying they are determined to reduce the number of students who refuse to take exams, as well as to eliminate failure in the district.
