Sheikh Ramadhan Mulindwa Nsanja, Luwero District Kadhi under the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, has appointed Sheikh AbdulMalik Kisitu as Acting County Sheikh for Kalagala Muslim County amid growing concerns over divisions within the Muslim leadership.

The District Kadhi stated that Sheikh Kisitu will serve a one-year probationary term. During the handover ceremony at the UMSC Luwero Muslim District headquarters in Kasana, Luwero Town Council, Kadhi Mulindwa addressed the challenge of disunity within the Kalagala County Muslim Council.

He noted that internal divisions, a lack of cooperation, and weakened discipline have continued to undermine effective leadership and hinder community development.

The District Kadhi tasked Sheikh Kisitu with the urgent responsibility of restoring unity and strengthening brotherhood among Muslim leaders and believers, reminding them that Islam calls for consultation and collective responsibility.

He further directed the new Acting County Sheikh to provide sound Islamic guidance to the Muslim community, ensure proper supervision of mosques and Islamic institutions, and coordinate all Islamic affairs within the county in line with UMSC guidelines.

Kadhi Mulindwa emphasized that cooperation, discipline, and sincere service to the Ummah are critical foundations for sustainable development. He warned that without unity and God-fearing leadership, the Muslim community risks stagnation both spiritually and socio-economically.
