Kabale diocese has held a special Mass to mourn the death of Pope Francis.
Presided over by Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira, the Mass was held at Our Lady of Good Shepherd Cathedral Church, Rushoroza.
Bishop Rubaramira asked Christians worldwide to emulate the late Pope Francis’ simple life and humility in leadership for a better world. According to Rubaramira, the late Pope Francis’ humbleness and humility is exemplified through several actions and choices, especially his preference for living in the Vatican guesthouse rather than the papal apartments.
Rubaramira described Pope Francis as a man of God who prioritised addressing global issues like economic inequality and the plight of refugees and consistently highlighted the needs of the poor, marginalised, and vulnerable, advocating for policies that would address economic inequality and injustice.
Rubaramira also says Pope Francis will be remembered for advocating towards addressing important global issues like economic inequality, climate change, and the plight of refugees, demonstrating his commitment to a more just and equitable world.
Pope Francis, the first Latin American leader of the Roman Catholic Church, died on Easter Monday at the age of 88.
