The Archbisop of the Church of Uganda his Grace Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu has asked and guided Bishops to pray for the peaceful elections in 20206.
Speaking at the Western and South western Bishops fellowship at ‘Las Vegas’ in Mbarara City on Thursday, the Archbishop said that ugandans need to keep peace.
“I want you to continue praying for Uganda, this time of elections, we need to ensure that the message of peace is carried over,” he said. “Now we have refugees coming here, because there is relative peace, but if this peace is gone, and we are also supposed to become refugees, where shall we go?”
He emphasized that the bishops need to preach the message of peace, reconciliation, forgiveness, respect for one another, support for one another.
Kaziimba’s message comes at a time when Uganda is having campaigns to elect the President, members of parliament and leaders for the local governments.
He commended the Bishops for the support they give to the refugees.
Over 90 Bishops serving and retired plus their spouses from 14 Dioceses of western and south western Uganda have converged for their retreat in Ankore Diocese
The retreat that started today will end after five days with a church service at the Diocese.
The Dioceses attending the retreat include; Muhabura, Kigezi, North Kigezi, Kinkiizi, West Ankore, Ankore, South Ankore, Masindi-Kitara, Bunyoro-Kitara, Among othersful Election.
