The West Nile Zonal Uganda Senior Secondary Schools Association officials are disappointed following the withdrawal of Comboni Samaritan from Adjumani District from the upcoming national competition.

Comboni, who had finished as runners-up in the West Nile Zonal boys’ meet, reportedly pulled out at the last minute, citing a lack of funds for feeding and participation fees. Their withdrawal leaves only Mvara SS from Arua City and Moyo Star from Moyo District to represent the region in the boys’ national competition.

Francis Bithola, the organizing secretary for the West Nile region, confirmed the development, stating that officials were caught off guard because Comboni Samaritan had remained silent until the final day.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ category, West Nile will be represented by Moyo Star from Moyo District, Francis Ayume SS from Koboko District, and Maracha Domestic from Maracha District. This year’s national competitions are scheduled to take place from May 6 to May 14, 2025, with the boys’ games being hosted in Ngora District and the girls’ games in Bukedi District, according to the fixtures released on Saturday-URN.
