The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party in Mbale City has elected a new executive leadership team as preparations intensify for the 2026 general elections. The election follows the defection of three key executive members, including former chairperson Haji Masa Musa, who crossed over to the National Unity Platform (NUP) last month.

The new leadership includes Chairperson Godfrey Wasukira, Vice Chairperson Sauda Namutosi, General Secretary Mary Adikin, Treasurer Aziz Naswagi, Secretary for Mobilization and Publicity Umaru Mwekolyo, Secretary for Women Asina Mafuko, Secretary for Youth (Female) Sylvia Namono, Secretary for Youth (Male) James Sosojji Allan, Secretary for Elderly and Veteran Affairs Patrick Wabuje, Secretary for People with Disabilities Johnson Mutambo, and Secretary for Security Sowedi Wanyama.

Sezi Mafabi, who had been acting as interim chairperson, said the party’s immediate focus is on strengthening structures and winning all elective seats in the city. He emphasized that the new executive will work to identify and support candidates from the LC1 to mayoral levels to ensure FDC’s strong performance in the upcoming elections-URN.
