In a significant move, leaders of the Democratic Alliance, under the able leadership of Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, have paid a courtesy visit at the National Consultative Forum Secretariat this morning to champion constitutional and electoral reforms. This development comes as Uganda gears up for the 2026 general elections.

As they engage in crucial discussions, the Democratic Alliance is advocating for a more inclusive and equitable Uganda, where every voice is heard. The alliance’s push for reforms is aimed at addressing the country’s longstanding governance challenges and promoting a more democratic society.

Mpuuga, the former Leader of Opposition in Parliament, has been at the forefront of efforts to promote political change in Uganda. His leadership of the Democratic Alliance marks a significant shift in the country’s political landscape.

The Democratic Alliance’s proposals for electoral and constitutional reforms are expected to be unveiled in the coming days. The alliance has already outlined plans to push for meaningful political and electoral reforms ahead of the 2026 elections.

As Uganda navigates this critical juncture in its democratic journey, the Democratic Alliance’s efforts to promote reforms and inclusivity are being closely watched. With Mpuuga at the helm, the alliance is poised to play a significant role in shaping the country’s political future. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
