Preparations are underway in Yumbe District for the much-anticipated Aringa Cultural Festival, set to take place on December 21, 2024. The event aims to celebrate the rich Aringa heritage while boosting the local tourism sector and promoting unity among community members.

Organizers have planned an array of cultural activities, including traditional games, a fashion show featuring Aringa attire, and performances of traditional music and dance. Rogers Adriko, Chairperson of the Central Organizing Committee, emphasized the festival’s role in preserving and promoting Aringa culture.

“This festival will serve as a platform for cultural exchange, learning, and the promotion of tourism. It is crucial in preserving Aringa culture and traditions while fostering unity and social cohesion,” said Adriko. Akim Achidri, the Information Officer of Yumbe District Local Government, highlighted the significance of the event, noting that it would showcase the community’s unique customs, dances, and music, helping to preserve the district’s indigenous identity.

In addition to its cultural importance, the festival is expected to boost the local economy by attracting visitors from neighboring districts and regions. The Aringa Cultural Festival is anticipated to be a major event, further cementing Yumbe’s reputation as a destination for cultural tourism-URN. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
