Four candidates have been nominated to contest the Adjumani West Constituency parliamentary by-election, setting the stage for a competitive race ahead of the September 17, 2026, poll.

They include the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate James Leku Pilli, who was nominated on Tuesday afternoon by Adjumani District Electoral Commission Returning Officer Christine Akao Eunice at the Commission offices in Rassia West Village.

Pilli joined three independent candidates who were nominated on Monday, the first day of the two-day nomination exercise. They are Patrick Tandrupasi, Gasper Draga and Ben Anyama.

The four candidates are seeking to fill the parliamentary seat left vacant following the death of former Adjumani West Member of Parliament, Gen Moses Ali, in July 2026.

Pilli’s nomination follows his selection as the NRM candidate and formally places the ruling party in the race against the three independents. The by-election is scheduled for September 17, 2026-URN. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
