Prosecution of Prison Warder Moses Anguyo for the alleged murder of four people in Kiboga District is set to begin today, before the High Court sitting at Kiboga. Anguyo is accused of killing four people, including a prison wardress, during a shooting incident in Kiboga Town Council on February 23, 2026.

According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Anguyo allegedly acted with malice aforethought and unlawfully caused the deaths of ASP Catherine Hope, PO1 Akishuri Bright, Ayebare Sarah and Niwagaba Salson at different locations in Kiboga.

The alleged killings occurred around the District Health Officer’s Office, Kiboga Hospital Road and the Kiboga Government Prison Yard. In the same case, Anguyo faces a charge of aggravated robbery over allegations that he robbed Katusiime Grace of a pair of black jeans and Nabayiga Mary of an Arsenal jersey at Saza Shops in Kiboga Town Council.

The prosecution alleges that he was armed with an SMG rifle, number UG POL 565824781-32635, during the alleged robbery. He is also charged with threatening violence for allegedly threatening to shoot or kill SP Niwagaba Ivan at Kiboga Government Prison.

Three other accused persons—Anziku Peter, Anziku Peter alias Okuonzi Dickson and Amviko Hellen—face charges of being accessories after the fact to a felony. The prosecution alleges that between February 23 and March 27, 2026, the three, who are relatives of Anguyo, jointly coordinated and assisted him to evade arrest and prosecution, thereby interfering with the course of justice in connection with the murder allegations.

The prosecution team is led by Dr. Daisy Nabasitu, Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, and Senior State Attorney Stephen Ariong. The accused persons are represented by Counsel Swaibu Male and Counsel Kate Nakamya. Lady Justice Jane Okuo Kajuga is presiding over the case. The charges against all the accused persons remain allegations, and they are presumed innocent until proved guilty by a competent court-URN.
