More suspects were apprehended in Mbalala, Nakapyini, and Nasuti areas in Nama Sub-County, Mukono Central Division, as well as in the Maganjo-Janjawaza, Kawanda-Kirinyabigo, and Tula-Mugalu zones of Kawempe Division.

The Police and UPDF also arrested suspects in Namaina, Kabubu, Nakwero, and Kijabijjo in Kasangati. According to the police, 62 suspects were arrested by Old Kampala Police Station, 28 suspects by Kakiri Police Station, 14 suspects were detained by Mukono Police Station, and 26 suspects were arrested by Kawempe Police Station.

Onyango stated that the series of operations was conducted in response to complaints of robberies, house break-ins by thugs. Police also said that the collaborative efforts between the police, UPDF, and local leaders were instrumental in the success of these operations.

The operations in these areas are a continuation of last week’s efforts, which targeted locations such as Kagugube, Wandegeya, Kitukutwe zone, Bulindo, Katuli, and Kidumpuli, where over 50 suspected criminals were arrested-URN.
