In a viral video, state minister Justine Namere has attacked fellow minister Haruna Kasolo for being the one who always defends rogue characters to steal government money and also become flag bearers for the NRM in greater Masaka.
While in Masaka with Balaam where they went for their anti-corruption operations tour, Namere lost her cool on camera and told her boss Balam that she wasn’t prepared to be used by Kasolo to shield people who steal PDM money and hide behind being NRM cadres to defeat justice.
A man called Ntale had just been arrested on the orders of Balam and Namere. Shortly after, Kasolo rang on Balam’s phone pleading for Ntale’s release.
Balam put the phone on loud speaker and begged Namere to speak to Kasolo since the two of them are the NRM giants in the area. Balam made it clear to Kasolo that he needed permission of Namere the area MP before releasing such people.
Live on camera, Namere refused to speak to Kasolo and told Balam this was wrong. She went on to ask why Kasolo doesn’t feel embarrassed being the minister who pleads for thieves and those who use force to impose themselves on NRM as flag bearers.
Talking on top of her voice, Namere told Balam on camera that Ntale was a known thief in Masaka who one time stole 42m meant for Emyoga beneficiaries. ‘That case is even in court and I’m surprised that the minister for myoga is defending such a person who stole the very myoga money he is supposed to be protecting on behalf of government,’ Namere shouted.
She said the same man was now in trouble for eating PDM money, which is why he should rot in prison like all the thieves Balam has been exposing.
Namere gave her ministerial directive to the RCC Washake and the Masaka police bosses to ensure that Ntale doesn’t get released until Kasolo personally comes and gives in his ID in order to stand surety for him. Namere accused Kasolo of seeking to protect his cronies without having a heart for peasants who are the people who brought Museveni and NRM to power.
She called on Kasolo to mind his business at foreign affairs and leave the ministers of local government to do their work. She totally refused to speak to Kasolo on Balam’s phone saying that is too low for a person of her calibre. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
