Residents of Guyaguya Sub County in Usuk County, Katakwi District, are taking advantage of the parliamentary campaigns to raise concerns over the deplorable condition of their roads.
They highlighted several particularly problematic routes, including Orungo-Ocorimongin, Acanga-Usuk, Orungo-Usuk, Okoritok-Ameritele via Okadanya, and the Olilim-Guyaguya-Adacar road, all notorious for their potholes and flooding in swampy areas.
Residents said the poor road conditions severely hinder their access to essential government services like healthcare and education, impacting their ability to conduct business, urging aspiring leaders to prioritize tackling issues related to flooding, healthcare, education, and clean water.
The politicians are appearing to rise to the occasion and Richard Ongorok, the NRM candidate vying for the Usuk County parliamentary seat for 2026-2031, has made a commitment while canvassing for votes in Guyaguya Sub County on Wednesday.
In Usuk County, five candidates have been formally nominated to contend for the MP position. They including the incumbent Bosco Okiror. Others are NRMs Richard Ongorok, Charles Okideny, Epel Alex, and Simon Peter Ogulo.
