Tororo district is comprised of thirty two (32) sub-counties, ten (10)Town councils and one Municipality.

Now, the proposal to create the new three districts from Tororo was proposed in the NRM party caucus and then tabled to cabinet pending the operationalisation. The proposed new districts are, Mukuju, Mulanda and Kisoko.

The request was presented during Museveni’s rally in Tororo town on Friday by Tororo County NRM party chairman, Othieno Godfrey Otabong, for the president to effect the operationalisation of the districts within this financial year.

Apollo Ofwono Yeri, the Tororo district NRM party chairman said that the creation of the new districts has resolved the conflicts of tribalism between the Itesot and Jopadhola that has been there for long, and elevate Tororo Municipality to city status.

Ofwono Yeri appealed to the president to help so that they can tamarck the 40 kilometre Nagongera to Busaba Road and another 17 kilometer of Tororo-Nagongera- Kisoko Road. He says this will help improve on proper movement of people and business.
