Three Suspected Cattle Thieves Killed, Burnt with Vehicle in Koboko District

Three suspected animal thieves have been killed and burnt with their vehicle in Diobe village Metino Parish, Abuku Sub County in Koboko district.Details of the suspects have not been revealed but one of them has been identified as Suleiman Habib from Koboko, while one of the other two yet to be identified is believed to be from Yumbe and the third one is said to be a Mulalo.

According to information obtained from eye witnesses, the trio were intercepted with the three cows in army green “Drone” van on which is written Tourist Van registration number UA 186BP at 2;00am last night by locals, who immediately killed them by chopping chopping them up before setting their bodies and the vehicle on Fire.

Josephine Angucia he Police Spokesperson for West Nile who also rushed to Koboko confirmed the incident adding that the victims were illegally killed on account of being cattle thieves.

Angucia added that the bodies of the victims have been conveyed to Koboko hospital morgue for further management, while the two cows and the burnt vehicle have been taken to Koboko police station.

A case of Murder and Arson have been registered at Koboko CPS under VIDE KK CRB 482/2025 as further investigations continue. She adds that cases of cattle theft have become common in the region urging animal owners to take care of their animals and remain vigilant.

However, according to Swadik Toko an eye witness at the scene by the time they heard the cry of some people and ran to find out what has happened, they found the bodies of the three tied on trees while the vehicle was burning.

Sources at Koboko Police station remained reserved on identification of the Tourist “Drone” and how it got involved in such an act. According to some people in Koboko, the van has been frequenting the route between Koboko and Yumbe in the last two weeks and some people thought it was transporting Tourists in West Nile.
