Police in Lamwo District have arrested three people in connection with the alleged murder of Robert Ongala, a 38-year-old resident of Itiba Village, Paloga Sub County.
The suspects have been identified as Denis Odida, 50, Denis Oginga, 22, and Ben Obedi, 20, all residents of Itiba Village.
According to Joe Oloya, the Aswa East Regional Police Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred on Monday, during an Easter celebration at Odida’s home in Itiba Village, where the quarrel between the deceased and Odida reportedly escalated into a fight.
It is alleged that during the fight, Oginga and Obedi joined and kicked Ongala.
Moments later, Ongala was found dead at his home. Oloya disclosed that a case of suspected murder by assault was registered at Paloga Police Station.
