The Police in Kitgum are hunting for unknown people who killed a staff member of Kitgum Boys Primary School, Kitgum Municipality.
Agnes Aneno, a 36-year-old, was reportedly raped before she was murdered in a forest in Nyanya Cell, Lemu East ward, Pager Division.
Joe Oloya, the Aswa East Regional Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, disclosing that the deceased was reportedly heard by the community members crying for help at around 5 am in the nearby forest. “The community members immediately responded to the scene and found that she was unconscious,” he said.
He revealed that upon arrival, they found the deceased tied to a tree, injured, and sticks inserted in her private parts before she was immediately rushed to the nearby St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she died on arrival.
According to Oloya, police have launched an investigation into the murder.
