Masaka NRM Candidate Namere Wanted Over Aggravated Robbery

On Wednesday, the very powerful Hajji Yunus Kakande, the chief technocrat who heads all staff and salary earners working under the President’s Office, encouraged Police to independently do its work regarding the aggravated robbery charges that over the weekend were preferred against Masaka City Woman MP Seat ruling party flag bearer Justine Namere Nsubuga.

Speaking on Kabaka’s CBS radio, which is listened to by over 80% of Kabaka’s people in Masaka, Kakande (who has closely served Gen Museveni for more than 35 years) revealed that Namere was no longer their responsibility because she ceased carrying the title Presidential Advisor the day she went into politics and began campaigning to carry the NRM flag for Masaka City.

Kakande clarified that it would be illegal for Namere to continue being a Presidential Advisor after plunging into the partisan politics of the NRM in Masaka. He added that it would also be criminal for Namere to go on using that title in order to cow her opponents while cajoling voters in Masaka because all the records are clear that her name no longer features on the list of Presidential Advisors.

“In fact, we already removed our [posh] vehicle and body guards from her because she doesn’t occupy that position anymore,” Hajji Kakande explained during the CBS Luganda news program.

“We aren’t responsible for her actions at all anymore as President’s Office and I have also been hearing and reading about her case with Full Figure, which Police should handle independently without any fear or thinking that by doing their work, they would be taking on a Presidential Advisor. She is no longer on that list. Let Police do their work as mandated under the law.”

Kakande clarified that the Police leadership ought to know that the law empowers and mandates them to investigate cases reported to them without fear or favour regardless of who the complainants and the suspects are.

Namere has endured bad publicity and harsh public scrutiny following the Friday incident at NRM headquarters in Nakasero which prompted Presidential Advisor Full Figure Nakangubi to lodge a criminal complaint against her at Kampala CPS where she reported to have been tortured and beaten up by a group of people she claimed were being commanded by Namere.

The subsequent video footage that became public over the weekend, as Full Figure received treatment at Nakasero Hospital, made many members of the public to conclude that the Friday mischief was orchestrated by Justine Namere, her husband Nsubuga and other yet to-be-identified actors.

Full Figure also claims that her attackers robbed her of her Shs500,000 and her smart phone. Namere has maintained her innocence, claiming her voice was merely smuggled into the video by pro-Nakangubi propagandists to make her look monstrous.
