Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Green Hydrogen Fertilizer Company to support efforts aimed at strengthening Uganda’s export value chains through improved agricultural practices.
The partnership will focus on rolling out a farmer extension programme that promotes proper fertilizer use and traceability. The initiative is expected to contribute to increased agricultural yields, better product quality, and improved competitiveness of Ugandan exports on the global market.
Speaking at the signing, Matthew Bagonza, who represented PACEID, emphasized the importance of fertilizer in agricultural productivity. He noted that fertilizer plays a key role in enhancing yields and quality, making it an important component in building stronger export value chains.
As part of its long-term investment in Uganda, GHFC is in the process of developing a fertilizer production facility with an estimated capacity of 200,000 tonnes per year. The project is expected to support local supply and contribute to the country’s broader agricultural and export development efforts.
The collaboration reflects ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and value addition within Uganda’s agricultural sector while supporting farmers with better tools and practices.
