King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV has commenced visits to the nine counties of Tooro Kingdom.

The royal visits started on Monday in Kyaka county, and will continue to other counties like Fort Portal, Burahya, Bunyangabu, Ntoroko, Kibaale, Mwenge North, Mwenge South, and Kitagwenda.

Toro Kingdom Prime Minister, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire says the kings visits are aimed at reinforcing the bond between him and his subjects.

Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV is expected to assess the progress of kingdom projects in the counties and also allow local leaders and subjects to present challenges directly.

Rwomiire adds during the visits, the King will be mobilizing the youth to take part in economically developmental activities.

While speaking to his subjects in Kyaka, King Oyo encouraged them to use the newly launched youth empowerment program to uplift their lives.

Last week the kingdom launched the Tooro kingdom youth live hood program where they will be distributing coffee, cocoa seedlings and chicks to the youth as a way for fighting unemployment among the youth and increase house hold incomes.

The King also encouraged the people of Tooro adopt modern farming methods that are cost effective and lead to higher yields.

The king asked politicians to stop politics of tribalism but rather focus on explaining clearly their intentions and developmental ideas they have for their areas once voted into power.

He also asked the voters to observe the law during campaigns and election time.
