Yusuf Nsibambi is a vice president of FDC but he was nowhere to be seen this week as his boss Nandala Mafabi launched his bid for president for 2026 on Wednesday.
Sources close to him say that Nsibambi didn’t show up because he knows Nandala doesn’t sell in Mawokota and because he fears war with NUP foot soldiers.
Because he fears to lose his MP job and become jobless in 2026, Nsibambi has been avoiding Nandala and POA because he knows they are hated and can spoil his vote.
In Kawempe elections, he didn’t show up even when he is Najjanankumbi’s deputy president for Buganda because he is a coward and feared direct battle with NUP foot soldiers.
FDC fronted singer Aga Naga who Nsibambi said was a waste of time because he stood no chance against Nalukoola. Nsibambi said he disagreed with how Nandala and POA chose Aga Naga and invested in him party money.
Nsibambi also accused POA and Nandala for taking weeks refusing to pick his calls when Joel Ssenyonyi was looking for them to participate in pro-Besigye prayers which NUP organised at Kavule.
He is now facing reelection in Mawokota and he has been looking for Kyagulanyi to promise him support against a NUP candidate in Mawokota.
At the Najjanankumbi meeting where Nandala repented his sins of unleashing violence on Katonga leaders like Wasswa Birigwa, Nsibambi was totally absent and organizers say he switched off his phone and went into hiding because he doesn’t believe in the Nandala candidature for president.
