Yusuf Nsibambi recently lost his temper and had a physical fight with a boda boda rider who mocked him and refused to clear the way for him. A video of the incident has since gone viral on the constituency whatsapp groups.
Nsibambi had just finished attending a meeting at Nakibanga which Kabaka’s Mawokota county chief Sarah Nanono Kayima had called to discuss area issues.
Nsibambi was exiting the venue when a young man blocked him using his boda. He shouted at him saying he had made unfulfilled promises to them which is why they are not going to vote for him again. The rider said they are now going to vote for Susan Nakawuki of NRM or whoever NUP gives them.
Nsibambi reached out for a long stick in his vehicle and clobbered the boy like a cobra snake. The boy fell on the ground but before his colleagues would come to his rescue, Nsibambi beat him even more. This forced Kayima to personally intervene and plead with Nsibambi not to finish off the poor boy.
Nsibambi didn’t know that all this was being recorded on video and the clip has since caused him a lot of political embarrassment. It has reduced his support and created more contradictions in his camp while benefiting Susan Nakawuki of the NRM camp.
Being the FDC boss for Buganda, Nsibambi is going to be having a lot of money in this campaign and voters are prepared to chew it all but vote for someone else.
Many of his campaigners have been defecting to support rival candidates because they say he didn’t keep his word on the many things he promised during his 2021 campaigns. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
