Mpuuga shuts down Masaka city as Sebiina counts on Nambooze to stop him

By KT Reporter

On Friday, Mathias Mpuuga demonstrated that he remains the man to beat for the position of Masaka city-based Nyendo Mukungwe MP post.

Tens of thousands of area residents thronged the Nyendo tax park to welcome Mpuuga as he came to launch his 2026 reelection campaign.

The type of crowd the DF big man pulled off was so big that his NUP rivals (whose candidate is Gyavira Sebiina Lubowa) can only dwarf it if they bring Kyagulanyi himself.

Days before Friday, the Sebiina camp tried to use renowned bullies Lutamaguzi Semakula and Betty Nambooze but still failed to fill the Nyendo tax park.

Mpuuga, who has been the area MP since 2011, easily filled that same space to full capacity and a lot of people ended up climbing trees and nearby buildings to be able to follow the rally.

Insiders say that the Mpuuga camp has come to the conclusion that the Kyagulanyi NUP squad is full of bullies like Nambooze and Lutamaguzi, who they are prepared and determined to fearlessly confront as opposed to accepting to be cowed into abdicating political space to them.

Knowledgeable sources say that Sebiina, in whose favour Nambooze is determined to camp in Masaka and campaign for instead of defending her Mukono turf, is coming under growing pressure from his masters at Kavule.

All of them including Kyagulanyi, Joel Senyonyi and Rubongoya have tasked Sebiina to quickly demonstrate that he has the balls to overcome Mathias Mpuuga come the voting day January 15th 2025.

Sources say that Kyagulanyi has concluded that stopping Mpuuga’s re-election is more important than ousting Museveni.

He fears that he will be laughed at and begin to ne despised by foot soldiers if Mpuuga manages to win re-election, even when he is at full blown war with Kavule.

Kyagulanyi knows that bloggers will laugh at him and use the Mpuuga victory to portray him as a man who has politically been demisitified.

Yet in the process of proving he remains King and of destroying Mpuuga, whose DF is better resourced than his NUP, Kyagulanyi risks destroying himself and his Kavule brand as the Mpuuga purge is already opening him up to many wars which he is supposed to be avoiding as he struggles to resist political persecution that is continuing to come his way especially from the deeply entrenched overt and covert regime opeeatives. Kyagulanyi is alienating himself from many would-be allies because of his insistence on destroying Mpuuga.

He is resentful of the likes of Medard Segona, Michael Kakembo, Semujju Nganda, Joyce Bagala, Richard Lumu and others simply because they refused to condemn Mathias Mpuuga.

Many Kavule insiders fear that the so-called principal might end up excessively exhausted yet he will need lots of energy to lead the party for another 5 years, which Museveni, Mao and others are determined to make very hard by starving Kavule of IPOD billions. Give us feedback on this story through our email: kamwokyatimes@gmail.com
