Lt Gen James Mugira, the Managing Director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), on Thursday inspected ongoing works at the Lira University Teaching Hospital Administration Block in Lira City.

The project, which is being executed by NEC Construction Works and Engineering Ltd (NEC Works), a subsidiary of NEC, is part of efforts to expand the university’s medical training and service delivery capacity.

During the inspection, Lt Gen Mugira was received by Eng Brian Buhanda, the General Manager of NEC Works, who led the tour and provided updates on the progress. He was accompanied by senior NEC officials, among them Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, the General Manager of Luwero Industries, Eng Simon Terwane, the General Manager of NEC Agro, and Maj Edgar Ankwasa, the General Manager of NEC Uzima.

Lt Gen Mugira commended the team for the steady progress and reaffirmed NEC’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure projects that support national development goals. The administration block is expected to play a vital role in strengthening Lira University’s capacity as a teaching hospital and providing advanced health services to the northern region.
